You are not alone in your decision Furloughedagain. Myself and many of my classmates from '89 have decided not to return to the USAir nightmare. QOL with your family is so much more important than going back to USAir and hoping things will get better there. They simply won't ! I enjoyed my time...

Let's put it this way. If the list stands as it is, we can all kiss USAirways goodbye. The resentment and anger will sink this ship. Better polish up those resumes just in case.

I'm in the same boat. I'm taking the QOL over the higher pay and the hassle of commuting and crashpads and reserve life. Delay as long as you can, then re-evaluate when they get to you with the last chance offer. As far as Republic, not sure what to tell you on that one. I turned down the offer...

Good luck getting info from our furlough administrator. I've heard virtually nothing from him in the last 4 years.

They are going to need the fourth runway for all the :censored: MESA CRJ 900's that will be replacing the 737's !!! **Edited By Moderator**

Well said Mike. I am fairly senior on the APL list and have heard almost nothing from the furlough administrator on what is going on these days at USAir. I get my information from this and another message board. That's NOT how this should work. If the company wants more timely responses, then...

"Please remember we still have 1,594 pilots on furlough" .... from the ALPA code a phone. Same ole S##T, different giveaway !

I go out of my way to avoid flying on that POS. Gee, lets see how many people we can cram into a small tube. :down:

The "Big Announcement" was always just around the corner for the past 20 years. Don't get your hopes up.

And the bad news is ...... all of the new flying will be done by Mesa's CRJ-900's ! YIPEEEEEE !! :down:

1st year F/O pay (76 hour gaurantee) for a CRJ 900 is $ 19,152. SAD ! :down:

Great ! Close to 2000 of us former mainline pilots (many like me with 15 years of dedicated service to the company and now furloughed) get to watch as Mesa and other contract carriers fly with there stretched out RATJETS what we use to fly in DC-9's and 737's. YIPEEEE !!! :down:
