PRE-65 Retirement Health Insurance - HELP!

Here is where I'm at. I've shopped Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NC's website directly for an Individual plan and they have some nice ones that would work if they qualify.    I also went to the group AA is pushing, OneExchange. They gave me a login so I could see what was available. Two weeks...

PRE-65 Retirement Health Insurance - HELP!

Has anyone figured out our HCTC options?   Are US Airways PBGC pre-65 retirees included in the airline (VEBA) benefit plan "voluntary employee beneficiary association" that was established through the bankruptcy?   https://www.irs.gov/Credits-&-Deductions/Individuals/HCTC  ...

LUS Retirement Healthcare Question - PBGC

Got a few answers. Any individual plan works. HCTC picks up 72.5%. The IRS will start advance payments for their monthly percentage starting July 2016. Until then you pay it, then file an 8885 form and get reimbursed. Right now this option runs through Dec31, 2019. I look for it to be extended...

    Passenger Service Early Out

PBGC mainly affects LUS employees. It's hard to explain to someone that didn't lived through the nightmare.

    Passenger Service Early Out

No, if you retire and get rehired at "starting" pay even if it's a subsidiary you can. If they close your station and you are offered a job with a subsidiary and keep your pay seniority you can't. That's the way it use to be.

    Passenger Service Early Out

If you started your PBGC retirement check say (700.00 per month), take the lump sum (40,000), take your sick leave buyout (12,000) and then go to work for Envoy or Piedmont taking advantage of their healthcare insurance ......... work another 12-24 months and leave. Might work for some.

    Passenger Service Early Out

If you are 62 and eligible for the PBGC / HTCT healthcare it might work. HTCT healthcare is guaranteed through 2019.    Question, can you retire and then go to work for Envoy or Piedmont!    If all you need is health care might work for some.

The PBGC and AA benefits were the most helpful, but PBGC is still waiting on the IRS.   The best I could tell...

LUS Retirement Healthcare Question - PBGC

Finally found my state's qualifying plan. It's a high risk pool. The best plan is around 1000.00 per month. HCTC picks up 72%. Would leave me paying around $280 per month. I hope the company sets up a qualifying pre-65. Would rather stick with something I'm familiar with?

LUS Retirement Healthcare Question - PBGC

Aren't unions negotiating new healthcare plans for all groups starting in 2017?  CWA was told us whatever over groups get so do we. We need a per-65 plan that qualifies for HTCT.   Congress only expended the HTCT through 2019. Hopefully it gets extended again or something else become available.
