    Fatique Risk Management

OK... I'm confused... But back to the original topic. Duty times are important for safety reasons, however, how will it be monitored? As was mentioned above, it will require a lot of honesty but, I'm afraid that the bank balance will prove to be more of a draw than honesty in many cases.

Scary Read In Wings This Month.

Twinstar, I couldn't agree with you more. Some of the F/O's I had in the Maldives were lost without the GPS. I tried it a couple times when it was their leg, I would just turn off the GPS and some of them were just lost without it. I tried to get them to know the islands and know that this...

Scary Read In Wings This Month.

That brings up the question of what a lot of people would do if their GPS packed it in while they were flying. How many would even know where they were so when they finally found their map they might have a starting point? Too many people rely far too heavily on new gadgets when they should...

    Hey... Where Is Everyone?

Duff is great, however Alexander Keiths IPA holds that special charm for me.... Or maybe it was too many years as an engineer that I just got hooked on the IPA part??? Cheers!!

    Hey... Where Is Everyone?

See, now we're communicating... This has brought up the whole problem of some people like certain ex members that I'm sure we all remember who have ended up being forced to leave because of the problems they created. I think all in all, most people can have a lively discussion without it...

    Maldives

Hey all, I just got back from a contract down in the Maldives and boy what a zoo that place is these days. Mondays are the busiest days with both TMA and MAT flying everything they have to the max. What a zoo that place can be when you have 15 or more Twin Otters (I believe there are 28 in...

    Canada''s Aviation Headquarters lacks excitement

Hey Spinner, Good to hear from you.. How's things on the east coast? I'll try to keep those things covered up while I'm there... Don't want to scare the tourists any more than I will in the airplane... :D

Anyone Do Interesting Contract Work Overseas?

Hey Magseal, There was a Larry from Alberta who worked for Borek down there 5 years ago, didn't know the fellow too well, seemed like a bit of a loner but a nice enough guy. Don't know whatever happened to him though.. Cheers

    Canada''s Aviation Headquarters lacks excitement

Sure Barney.... Hey, I probably won't be able to make the beaver for a bit as I'm heading back down to the Maldives next week. I'll be back in about 2 months though and we'll have to catch up and quench that thirst I'm sure I'll have by the time I get back.. Cheers buddy...

Anyone Do Interesting Contract Work Overseas?

I worked in the Maldives about 5 years ago as a pilot/engineer. It was a pretty good gig but it's mostly what you make of it. If you are stuck in Male all the time it can get a bit boring but doing shutdowns out at the resorts when I was flying was pretty good... I'm actually heading back...

Help! Should I Become An Ame At Age 32?

32??? You're still a puppy... If it's what you want to do, go for it... I had a fellow working for me a while back who came out of tech school when he was +/- 48 years old!!! I used to tease him that he was the worlds oldest apprentice... Great guy who has now found himself a nice cushy...

    Hey All You Lanky Pilots.

Yeah, I have a hard time fitting my 5'9" frame into most airplanes too.... :P Just kidding.... I did know a fellow a while back that when we were both flying beavers who was about 6'6" who amazed me how he folded his body into it when he pushed off the dock... I ran into him a few years...

    Canada''s Aviation Headquarters lacks excitement

Hey all, good to see that you are still all here. I haven't had much access to the site for a while as I was out of town on a contract, so I guess I'm part of the problem of lack of traffic as well. Now that I'm back for a while, I hope I'll be able to contribute again. For anyone coming...
