Passengers were held aboard briefly so the airline could get clearance from the Centers for Disease Control office at MIA to allow people to leave, and first class passengers were allowed to leave a short time later. Passengers in coach, where the teens were traveling, were detained on board.
When paramedics questioned the ill passengers, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said only one of the teens requested medical attention, and the remaining 14 people said they did not need help.
The ambulances left the airport, empty, shortly before 1 PM.
