Why hasnt US followed the other majors and ordered winglets for the 767s to save fuel and money?
Probably because they are SOOO old and US wants to get rid of them ASAP.Why hasnt US followed the other majors and ordered winglets for the 767s to save fuel and money?
If they were going to get rid of them, then why have they redone the interiors?
There hasn't been enough interest from anyone, let alone US in winglets for the 762. It's destined to be exclusively used by cargo carriers pretty soon.To my knowledge, the 767-200 has never been wingleted by any carrier.
Plenty of wingleted -300s flying around though.
How much longer will our 762s be hanging around anyway? 2 more years? Would it be worth the expense to modify them? Just a thought.
Could we get the 767's in the takeoff line up behind the departing 737-300's please? There is another airplane that can't be turned into beer cans fast enough. Talk about a tired bird. Great airplane but so was the DC-3. Get rid of them already. Good Lord. 🙄
Good, sell them to the Air Force. Thank GOODNESS the 300's are going now the 767's need to go.Actually, winglets for the 767-200 series are available. If Boeing wins the Air Force's NexGen tanker contract, Boeing is proposing a 767-200ER with winglets.

EXACTLY! Offer the Government a 3-for-1 Fire Sale Bargain. We will give You Three 767's in exchange for You giving US One A330 (any configuration). As time goes on the ratio may change 4-1, 5-1 and eventually 9-1. Just GET RID of them already!Good, sell them to the Air Force. Thank GOODNESS the 300's are going now the 767's need to go.
