9/11 Tribute

Is 9/11 Being Forgotten?: Newspapers, Politicians, Terrorists Skipping Anniversary Commemoration

If you're looking to be reminded of the tragic events that occurred eleven years ago today, don't bother checking the front pages of the New York Times or the New York Post.
Both papers make no mention of 9/11 on their wrapper.
The Wall Street Journal is barely any better: The financial paper of record is rescued from an absence of front-page coverage by a Citigroup ad. And the Washington Post managed to save a diminutive lower-third spot for a 9/11 photo of the Twin Towers, but not the Pentagon.
The New York Times isn't free of 9/11 coverage, of course: An article on the scaling back of 9/11 memorials appears on page A17.
Indeed, as Good Morning America notes, just one year after the tenth anniversary of the attacks, no politician is scheduled to speak at the Ground Zero memorial.
Even terrorist organizations seem to be treating today as just another day.
"There is no credible or specific intelligence to indicate terrorist organizations are plotting attacks to coincide with the 11th anniversary of 9/11," a Department of Homeland Security told ABC News.
But in the midst of a "return to normalcy," a ray of light for memorialists: Longstanding budget disputes that have stalled the construction of Ground Zero's 9/11 museum appear to have been resolved.
Then again, that financial concerns could delay the completion of something as obviously necessary as the September 11 Museum doesn't bode well for the Tribute in Light memorial, which has just been turned over to the National September 11 Memorial & Museum while teetering on the brink of being switched off.

Evidently the Today Show thought Kris Jenner, mother of everyones favorite reality show skank Kim Kardashian, talking about her breast implants was more important than coverage of the moment of silence.
