The union has no say whatsoever or defense for those involved in criminal activity. Where the union might get involved in is if and when one of these employees is found innocent of all charges and may have the right to get his/her job back as a result.
But when the cuffs are put on, the union has NO say whatsoever....

With regard to bashing the twu, I'm not exactly what one could call "pleased" with them myself but at least I'm employed by the company and have every right to call its POS union anything I want - Josh isn't employed by AMR in any capacity (his words) and really needs to learn when to shut his mouth.

As a New Yorker who regularly travels from JFK (but rarely checks luggage) I appreciate knowing about stuff like this. Of course, this isn't unique to JFK or unique to AA, it goes on at many airports and airlines.

Just becase one is cleared in a criminal court doesn't mean they should be cleared by AA to come back to work.
Plenty of people are found not guilty in criminal court but end up losing on a follow up civil suit. Not sure how that plays out with situations like these guys.
The garbage has been going on for too long. There needs to be controlled exits. Swipe card to end duty, exit through checkpoint, light goes off then backpack/bags get searched and a employee goes through metal detector.

I'm with you. Number one one the implementation list is the TSA thieves. It's kinda of tough to skim at the security checkpoints except for the people who were criminals in their past life. (their background checks go back only so far), but the bag searchers below should clear security.
