UA pilots have asked for a release from mediated negotiations - a work stoppage this summer would be a welcome present for AA.

With the course Horton has been plotting, AA will get one of their own or at the very least, an operation that crumbles upon itself.

What's new about this is that it seems to be a match, and not a challenge. Unofficially, I'm hearing UA is now doing the same for AA elites (match without challenge).

which goes to show that AA and UA have a long history of swapping their advantages in the market or shooting themselves in the foot when they have an advantage.
I have long believed that AA's best turnaround hope would come from UA's problems w/ merger integration. Given that UA's costs will now be the highest in the industry - even before passing out the pay raises necessary to integrate the labor groups - it isn't surprising that UA is trying to drag out the integration process to delay the pay raises.

If AA can gain some disgruntled UA passengers, it could dramatically put some wind under AA's recovery = and make it all the more unnecessary for the creditors to want to see a US merger.

Again WT, just ignore the disgruntled AA passengers that are produced by disgruntled AA employees with Horton's current plan.

Stalin is dead. I'm thinking he would be the only one capable of executing Horton's plan and keeping the rabble in line.
