Passage of Vision 2025 Proposition Two Provides Growth Opportunities for Tulsa Maintenance Base

FORT WORTH, Texas, Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- American Airlines today thanked the citizens of Tulsa County for their support of Vision 2025 Proposition Two. The passage of this important proposition will help the company invest in the future of the Tulsa Maintenance base.

"We are very grateful to Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry, University of Oklahoma President David Boren, Congressman John Sullivan and Tulsa Mayor Bill LaFortune, as well as the other state and city leaders who understood the importance of investing in the future of the base and who did everything they could to support it," said Carmine Romano, vice president of American's Tulsa Maintenance Base. "American also appreciates the officers and members of Transport Workers Union (TWU) Local 514 and the officers of the TWU International and the AFL-CIO for generating overwhelming support for the proposition."

American has been evaluating its maintenance capacity requirements for several months. Today, the airline has maintenance overhaul bases in Kansas City, Mo.; Fort Worth, Texas; and Tulsa, Okla. The passage of this proposition is an important piece in the evaluation process. As the analysis is finalized, American is taking into account each community's support. The company expects to make an announcement about the full allocation of work among the three bases within weeks.
