AA-A300-445 © AirTeamImages The carrier, which today posted a second quarter net loss of $1.4 billion, had previously announced plans to retire 10 A300s by year-end, in addition to 30 Boeing MD-80s, 37 regional jets and 26 Saab turboprops, as part of its larger effort to slash costs in the face of soaring fuel prices and a weakening economy.
