AC suspends flights to Venezuela

Air Canada has suspended flights to and from Venezuela, citing concerns over security.
The airline said it would consider resuming operations once the situation in Venezuela had stabilised.

Has AA changed our operations in any way to protect the a/c and the employees?

Between currency repatriation and security, I'm surprised more carriers haven't taken the steps AC has. There's a smaller Ecuador carrier who pulled service last month, but I haven't followed to see if anyone else did. If AA or AV were to pull back, it would have some impact.

the reason most carriers aren't pulling back is because the government in Venezuela has said that those carriers won't be allowed to restart service again in the future.... hard to know if that could be done or not but it is a hefty risk in a country that has provided some decent economic rewards for US airlines in the past.
