Yesterday''s WSJ page 3 article about a movement in Congress now to attach an amendment to a tax bill that would allow airlines to delay certain currently-due pension fund contributions until 2005 and then stretch out these payments over 20 years.

Put aside the management flames for a moment: why would the unions support this measure?
