“All” Cellphones Will Be Inserted With Federal “Chip” For “Terror Alerts”, Launch Begins Today In New York
http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2011/05/10/national-emergency-alert-system-set-to-launch-in-nyc/

For now, the alerts are capable on certain high-end cell phones but starting next year, all cell phones will be required to have the chip that receives alerts.

By the end of the year, the new system will be in place in New York City and Washington and in cities around the country by the end of 2012.

Interesting. So all new cell phones where required to be GPS enabled by 12/2005. Now within the time frame of a year, the Obama administration wants all cell phones to have a "chip" that will broadcast supposed "Terror Alerts"?

GPS enabled phones + fed chip = ???

What are the odds that those said chips will innocently connect to GPS data and then Big brother will then be tracking in real time US citizens by the millions. All under the ruse of "Safety".

What could go wrong?

I shudder to ponder this whole thing. I am sad that when I finished reading the very first thought was:

Can the 2012 version of "Kristallnacht" be far behind?

Guess Big Brother is wanting these guys to move out.................so they can move in !

Apple Inc. and Google Inc. went to Washington Tuesday to testify on Capitol Hill about consumer privacy and tracking in smartphones.

"Apple and Google , meanwhile, endured some public flogging by senators over their policies for consumer privacy on smartphones!"

Guess where Obama got the idea from? At least they aren't trying to hide it under the ruse of "Terror Alerts"

Beijing to track individual movement through cell phones

Published 14 March 2011

Beijing could soon track the daily movements of seventeen million residents by tapping into their cell phones; authorities have proposed a program designed to help ease traffic congestion by providing up to the minute data on an individual's movements; critics say that this is an attempt by authorities to prevent large crowds from forming; the proposed plan comes as Chinese officials have grown increasingly worried about domestic unrest in light of the mass protests sweeping across the Middle East; Chinese police forces turned out in full force after anonymous calls for mass protests were posted online; the government has also placed more than eighty activists under house arrest while others have gone missing.

Simple solution: Don't own/use one.

Once again Kev you are showing your intelligence as you face-plant on your liberal rose bed.

Such technology already exists as third party apps. So why the need for a "chip"?

Liberals love to play what ifs, so lets play what if.

What if George W Bush had proposed/implemented such system without public comment after 9/11?
What if said "chip" somehow is collecting your every movement.
What if some day you will have to explain your participation (or lack of) in you hardcore-marxist-liberal-progressive-union-socialist meetings.
What if you are suspected of something just because your cell phone happen to be at some event the GOV deems a threat?

If you are ok with such said technology, when a hard right president and administration takes control as you are when a hard left socialist (Obama) then...I guess you have nothing to fear.

Or should you?

I'm well aware of all the apps that are already out there. Why people feel the need to "check in" using things like FourSquare is beyond me.

That said, again, it's simple: If someone is that concerned about the possibility of tracking via cellphone, don't own/use one. After all, ownership isn't mandatory.

You didn't answer my questions Kev.

And I wasn't talking about foursquare like apps. People can elect to use them under their own free will. They are not hard coded via a chip either. Unlike the GOV mandated tracking devices they are proposing.

What i was referring to was the various emergency alert apps that already widely available. So then why is it necessary for the GOV to shove this thru by 2012? Something happening we are not aware of?

Dunno. That said, I honestly don't see things like automated emergency alert (especially weather) apps as worrisome.

If they are to you, that's your right. If it means not owning a cellphone going forward, well, that's a choice you'll have to make.

Nice dodging the questions Kev. I expected more, but not surprised. The inconvenient truth is that if this was merely proposed by the previous administration the left would be having a meltdown and the ACLU would be all over it.

But now that we have a liberals wet dream of a socialist president, anything and everything is ok, nothing to see, move along.

You compliance and submission to big daddy government makes you feel more secure? Me not so much.

How does saying "I don't know" constitute a dodge? You want me to make something up?

BTW, if you honestly think Obama is a socialist, you really need to read up. He's far too enamored with Wall St. and glitzy visions of globalization to even come close.

You don't know? You have no opinion on the matter? Seriously Kev?

Lost your spirit?

Oh No. All these years my address was in the telephone book it was a government plot?

'They' knew where I was every time I talked on the phone.
