“All” Cellphones Will Be Inserted With Federal “Chip” For “Terror Alerts”, Launch Begins Today In New York

For now, the alerts are capable on certain high-end cell phones but starting next year, all cell phones will be required to have the chip that receives alerts.

By the end of the year, the new system will be in place in New York City and Washington and in cities around the country by the end of 2012.

Interesting. So all new cell phones where required to be GPS enabled by 12/2005. Now within the time frame of a year, the Obama administration wants all cell phones to have a "chip" that will broadcast supposed "Terror Alerts"?

GPS enabled phones + fed chip = ???

What are the odds that those said chips will innocently connect to GPS data and then Big brother will then be tracking in real time US citizens by the millions. All under the ruse of "Safety".

What could go wrong?

I'll give you a plausible scenario.

First, my guy for President is pretty extreme to many powerful people (like the fed) who derive their income and influence from the Federal Government.

For discussion supposes, Ron Paul starts polling in the 35 to 40 percent range and has a change to win his party nomination. What's to stop his opposition from coercing members of a government who depend on their income from said government from listening, intercepting texts etc etc from members of Ron Paul's campaign? Or given the hatred by some for Obama, what's to stop them?

Dunno. That said, I honestly don't see things like automated emergency alert (especially weather) apps as worrisome.

If they are to you, that's your right. If it means not owning a cellphone going forward, well, that's a choice you'll have to make.

Its not that....but how easily this could be abused. Hitler was ok at first.

It's an alert system. How does this affect a world take over?

An alert system already based upon a signal locating system...yeah WTF could be wrong with that technology?

Just think, such an efficient system could have helped Hitlers 'final solution' back in the day.

I'm well aware of all the apps that are already out there. Why people feel the need to "check in" using things like FourSquare is beyond me.

That said, again, it's simple: If someone is that concerned about the possibility of tracking via cellphone, don't own/use one. After all, ownership isn't mandatory.

So I take it you don't mind the Feds tapping your land line ? Probably not as long as the Annointed One is in office anyways !
