Looks like management wants to recreate US Airways in the image of America West.

That means lower pay, higher productivity, but also a "flat" (LCC-style) fare structure (low walk-up fares, discount F class, etc).

In the last few years, America West has gone from post 9/11 road-kill to a pretty good airline that makes a (small) profit despite the largest overlap with Southwest of any airline in the US. And it's growing, with new Airbus orders. It's even taken the fight to the big boys by jumping onto the transcon routes.

So what's worse, working for America East or finding another job?

I think I posted this exact question a few months ago, including using the term "America East" and the mods moved it to the America West Board.
