American Airlines has received three awards from Business Traveler magazine, including best business class to Central and South America.[BR][BR]The magazine also named American as the best domestic economy class and the best business class to Mexico. With respect to service south of the border, American Airlines is obviously doing things right, the magazine said.[BR][BR]Its choice of American for the best domestic economy class was due largely to its renovation in the past two years that gave economy-class passengers more legroom than ever before. Over the last two years, American removed 8,730 coach seats from more than 800 jets, in order to give economy-class passengers more legroom. Combined, the added room equals the length of the Golden Gate Bridge, the magazine said. [BR][BR]The magazine also named Chicago's O'Hare Airport as the best airport in North America, and named Southwest Airlines the best low-cost carrier. [BR][BR]The survey appears in the magazine's January 2003 issue or online at [A href=http://www.businesstravelerusa.com/articles.php?articleID=213.]http://www.businesstravelerusa.com/articles.php?articleID=213.[/A][BR][BR][A href=http://stlouis.bizjournals.com/stlouis/stories/2002/11/18/daily73.html]http://stlouis.bizjournals.com/stlouis/stories/2002/11/18/daily73.html[/A][BR][BR]
