According to the amfa national web site, the association has given in to outsourcing by creating a union full time position to work along side the people who are sending jobs away.

http://www.amfanational.org/index.cfm?zone=/unionactive/view_article.cfm&HomeID=272707

AMFA calls the outsourcing position a Liaison which is literally defined as a co-operation. This union dues paid job will have an "association member" working along side management in an attempt to successfully outsource mechanic jobs at Southwest Airlines. That's right. Why make outsourcing difficult? AMFA will take association dues dollars and spend them by HELPING the company get rid of your jobs.

This position is so in line with management, the applicant is forced to sign a "non compete" letter in hopes of dissuading a permanent position with management. A management desk job without the benefits and responsibilities of management? One can only guess the caliber of character who will apply to this position. Who among you association followers will be the first to sign up?

What happens when the Liaison allows higher seniority positions to be farmed out? Does this job come with super seniority? Perhaps a nice parking spot right up front next to the on site vendors?

amfa-king incredible!!!

This position was created to police the company, document all outsourcing events and file grievances if company tries to outsource any of our work.
He is not there to help the company, he is there watching them like a hawk.

Is the IBT or TWU allowed this kind of access to police the airlines?

You can't even read doofus.

At AA, the TWU just relies on whatever the company tells them is the outsourcing percentage. We don't have anyone watching over the outsourcing like SWA does, but we do have someone hanging out in KC being paid by the company to do some work with the Teamsters.

WNMECH

I have a question doesn't item #15 require them to insure AOG part shortages that could be looked at as assistance to the company, with outsourced work?

It worked about as good as this BS position will. You are of course referring to the 20% ALLOWABLE outsource limit that the IAM negotiated which was later adopted by amfa when they took over. Instead of dumping the language, amfa tried these same "watch dog" help the company tactics and later became the prime witness against the members. Ask Jim Sites, our former amfa ALR how it felt to be the companies star witness?

Paint this nasty picture any way you want. In the end it is still amfa in bed with the company allowing work to be farmed out. Here is a suggestion; grieve it all. No watch dog needed for that.

I was going to post something similar, but you said it much better than I could.

With the TWU, the international would appoint someone's spouse or sister in law, pay them $200k and they wouldn't be accountable to anyone. With AMFA, there's transparency and accountablility.

Outsourcing is going to happen, whether at WN, UPS or AA, whether y'all like it or not. Which of those three will have someone who is tasked with making sure the outsourcing complies with the contract? Just one of those three, and it ain't UPS or AA.

Funny thing....the teamsters own summary of the arbitration doesn't read ANYTHING like your fairytale.

http://teamsterssfo.com/items/summary_20_outsourcing_decision.pdf

BTW .... its " Jim Seitz" he was the teamsters representatives on the arbitration board....funny, I don't see anything about him being a star witness for the company, just another of your pathetic lies.

No.
That in part is to monitor back shops to insure they call overtime if we need it so the company doesn't get to send more work out.

Anomaly doesn't know that a liaison is a communications go-between.

The position is solely to keep more work in house.
Only a dipstick like anomaly could read that job description differently.

Hey dumba$$, you need to re-read. Ya know the A&P lic does require you to read, write and "UNDERSTAND" the english language. This position was generated, and put in place by the union. This was only one of the steps taken by AMFA when they came in and had to clean up the teamsters mess they left behind. The teamsters allowed so much outsourcing as well as out of USA outsourcing, that AMFA nego this position in the contract to monitor the outsourcing the co was doing. Our man in this position has brought alot of work back in house, numerous back shop work also brought in house, if we did not have him we may not have ever caught it. Also note who the liason reports to, the Airline Reps. Once again Anomaly you taken language from the National web site for an election and twisted it up to look bad to try and get more teamster voters. You guys are getting desperate Anomally, and your continuation of posting is an excellent indication just how bad it is looking for the teamsters and TWU. Why don't you try reading our contract for the liason position, it very, very clearly explains his job duties. Please keep posting, all you guys are doing a great job for AMFA and we appreciate it...
BTW Anomaly, does ANY other union have this position within their contracts to watch and monitor the companies outsourcing?? NOPE!! Only AMFA does. We thank you for bringing this to light for all to see yet another thing AMFA does to help the mechanics "BRING MORE WORK IN HOUSE" No other union has this position. Thx again, your the best!!!

You all did your best to mask this new management/union outsourcing position like true amfa followers. amfa satisfies it's flock by spinning the truth. Just like the fact that amfa leadership works very closely with management. So close, that they are willing to fund a position from union dues to monitor and clarify for the company just how much more can be farmed out. What good little helpers you are.

On the other hand, I find it very amusing how I am able to have you all scurry like rats on a sinking ship. It impresses me how you all attack my posts like I hold some concealed power to change minds. Any of my posts can easily be searched and all of them offer different points of view. Just like this subject. If my posts and replies are so full of crap and lies, why do you all put such effort into arguing my position??

I do not apologize for frightening you or threatening your deceptions, but I do appreciate the high regard.

If you are the best the IBT can put in the position to write on these forums, they are in worse shape then I thought.

I guess your union job description did not include "having the ability to write fact based summaries of contract language in ways to further the IBT agenda".

What is funny is that me and FWAAA have no skin in the game and see right through you and all the other industrial union apologists that come here.

You start a thread that does nothing except illustrate your complete inability to comprehend basic contract language, and once again having been proven the fool you are, you return only to emphasize the point with more of your nonsensical gibberish.

Well done, Well done indeed.
