Airline stocks moved up as union members OK''d pay cuts to keep American Airlines afloat. Two of three unions OK''d the pact, but flight attendants voted it down.

Shares of the carrier''s corporate parent AMR(AMR)rose 10 percent to $3.40 before being halted on the Big Board. Still with 48 million shares trading hands, it was the most heavily swapped issue on the Big Board.
