All kind of concessions in the companies proposal but one I find interesting is the elimination of the avionics AMTs. Looks like the training dept. will be busy putting everyone through the avionics schools on the fleets. Sorry to see that the self proclaimed "specialists" (a.k.a. avionics techs) won't be so special any more. Remember there will be a RIF on how many guys work the line in the day to day operations. Looks like 88 seniority to stay on the line at DFW. Now maybe the specialists can can check their own CSD oil levels when placarding a generator....Specialists....

3. Eliminate Avionics Crew Chief and Avionics AMT position at Line
Stations
, and all Avionics local letters of agreements.

There's some things you have to find humor in and after listening to the specialists for years it is FUNNY to see them knocked off their self proclaimed pedestal.

Sorry I didn't make that clear in who I was referring to.....It was a DFW AVIONICS LINE crew chief that proclaimed his people to be specialists....

Been there, done that, no T shirt.
I am 'old school' That earned my first class FCC license with radar endorsement.
FCC 'dummy downed' the license to general and $500 dummy schools to get the ticket.
Now every A/P has an FCC (if they take the dummy school).

And another thing....How is it they figure each department will give up 20% Do you think our proposal equates 20%? I guess the outsourcing of up to 40% of our work will keep our concessions around 20%. What do you think?

how did you come with 88 to work the line in dfw?
The company proposal allows them to change the bid rules, length of bid etc...eliminate avionics...they will go to one centralized dispatch area for the terminals and will operate with 20-25 specialists (since everyone will be special). Given the seniority on the line now you will need 88 seniority. Look at the bid sheets on DFW's website...bid results....you'll see.

LMO also referred to as elmo provides the company bean counters with all they need to know on manning requirements for the line. For anyone that isn't familiar it is the companies automated system used by the line that links an aircrafts discrepancies to the maintenance department and monitors what mechanic is assigned to it, the time they were assigned, and the time they were finished. A virtual stopwatch. Time to leave the laptops at home and get some comfortable shoes because you'll be on your feet all day

dallas has over 900 guys are you saying the rest are getting cut?
That's speculation....just like ALL information on this comedy board....but the company is not stupid...they will take it down to a number they can get away with while preserving the TUL majority so their lapdog union stays in check.

Get real, 1988 senority is the cut off? That's roughly 600 AMTs. I can belive 1998, but I don't think they are going to cut 20% evenly station to station.

With increased flying over 5 years of 20% at places like JFK(lga-ewr)/mia/ord/lax/dfw AND Increased International flying, that things wont be so bad (minus the $$ and bennys of the BK shhhit) for the hardest working AA/AMT's.
You know, the ones who are turning wrenchs while freezing thier balls off in JFK/ORD !

Imagine the Culture shock of some TUL yokel who bumps into JFK !!
(well, for the first time in that dudes life, at least he'll get to eat REAL PIZZA) :p

Sorry, I should have been more clear....that's what it will take to work the line on days/afternoons.
