At this point, would him even taking a $1/year salary and stock options with a strike price of $25, not mature until 2 years from now, earn any respect back?

I've already called the state welfare office to request a food stamps brochure. I know he and his family will need it.

His head on a platter might be a start, but respect only for the individual that put it there.

Actually, Arpey is only a mouthpiece for the board of directors, most of which have their own closets of skeletons - not a group of people I'd be proud to say I know personally if I did. These are the type presiding over the last days of the USA as a great democracy and trading that for a corporation-based form of government.

I'm waiting for EOLESEN and FWAAA to defend Arpey and tell us how much less he earns than his peers.....

.. and then tell us we shouldn't worry about what someone else makes - that's all these executive SOBs do is worry about being surpassed in any way.

I can't imagine the ego it takes to keep up a game like this day to day. I have this picture of a group of grown men in a room playing "mine is bigger than yours".

So if Arpey has nothing to gain by such a magnanimous action, why would he do it?

This pay stuff is just a distraction anyway. Now more than ever, every AA employee needs to be focused on doing whatever he can to make the company efficient, productive and profitable.

So maybe we should take 50% paycuts so the company can be profotable and the executives can get better PUPS...Is that about right Flier?

Haha...obviously you haven't been following what's been happening in this country since Jan 20th.

So how has "hope" and "change" been working out for YOU?

ya know the french would just go out and SIT ON THE RUNWAYS!!!

I guess since we should be grateful for what we have, so should Arpey

It would be rather difficult to face one's "friends" after having made so little in a year's time.

How would one continue to conspicuously consume? What would others think if the wife was seen driving a one year old car? Dear God - what if the family boat's size didn't increase by a minimum of 20 feet for one year?

What if the poor wife of the CEO actually had to learn how to cook for her family instead of letting the maid do it?

This is nearing the complete collapse of a once proud society, degenerating to the point a corporate CEO can only afford a 12,000 ft**2 house and two pools therein. Their children will have to change schools as the other CEO's little bratz will taunt them at every turn about how poor their parents are.

Next, we'll have cats and dogs, doing it in the street, with each other (from Ghostbusters) ...

Badmouthing Arpey isn't going to get us to our goals. Profits for AMR will. That's what we should be focused on. Being efficient, keeping costs down and supporting things (like outside MRO anti-trust immunity!!) that will help get our company back in the black and restore our concessions.

You're kidding right? You say you're not buying into the management game plan. Executives are the only ones who have gained ANYTHING? Be it cash or stocks, they HAVE NOT SHARED THE PAIN......

If you want to give the company a 100%, be my guest. In return all you're going to get is the "lucky to have a job" sermon that management is so adept at giving.
As for me, it's low speed and "by the book"....even if a flight is delayed for hours or cancelled.

Until this company negotiates in good faith......they're lucky to get 10% out of me.
So be a good company employee and buy into their plan.....maybe you'll get a $.40 an hour raise.

Oh I see, if AMR shows profits, all will be well.

Did that happen in the late 90's flatline? Do tell.....
