Baggage Fees changing in October for Elite Companions?

Was told by a PHL TA that the baggage fees are changing in October such that non-elites ticketed with an elite will still be required to pay baggage fees. Is this true?

Isn't this already true today? Last time I was ticketed with a non-elite (yes, same PNR) the agent told us to check everything under my name to avoid the fees. Both at the DCA and TYS stations.

Well that is just another example of someone who doesn't care to understand the rules. That is not correct and you should seek a refund. See below:

Yes, as long as you're all booked on the same reservation. However, baggage fees still apply to all passengers booked in group reservations (10 or more people in one reservation).

If this rule change is true, that is just another way US is flipping off its preferred members.
