But, uncle Ed promised he'd have a new airline up and running in June 2004! And it was gonna be sunshine, lollipops and rainbows for everyone in Pittsburgh!!

You mean Beauvais may have been exaggerating?

Imagine that........ 😀

Beavis(& Butthead) and Lorenzo should never be allowed to operate an airline again. Even California has a "3 strikes" policy for repeat offenders. Project Runamuck will never see the light of day. Just my thoughts......

Beauvais has proven one thing, there are lots of stupid rich people who want to play in the airline game, and will give money to dodgy operators to do it.

Wonder when the Pittsburgh press will figure this guy out?

Before Project Roam landed in PIT, they were known as Northern Airlines, operating out of an office at the Syracuse Airport. They were going to operate a fleet of F-28s. Then they changed to 717s. One was even flown in for a demonstration one time. They apparently sold the city fathers quite a bill of goods. There was an industrial development loan/grant of approximately 90K. The state was going to contribute $1M toward the cost of a maintenance facility. Then, in the middle of the night, in a fashion that would make Bob Irsay proud, they blew town for PIT and changed their name to Project Roam. They have yet to repay the money owed the Industrial Development Agency and have reneged on the payment schedule the agency worked out with them. The matter has been reported in the press in Syracuse from time to time. At last report they were stonewalling inquiries from Syracuse. I can't imagine the Steel City press not picking up on this hoax.

And I'm sure the Beauvais family of grifters pocketed some greenbacks in the process.

I would think that now that US has announced PIT cuts, the Beauvais cult would come scampering out to try to grift a few more $$ from the gullible.

We will see.

Being from Baltimore, I liked the comparison to Bob Irsay. But moving right along.,
Allegheny County hates USAirways so much, they'll roll out the red carpet for any inew carrier regardless if it's legitimate or not. And the Pittsburgh Post Gazette will suck
up to them.

As a Phoenix resident, we would have accepted Bob Irsay and his Colts, sadly, we got Bill Bidwell and his even more pathetic Cardinals. Irsay is bad, but a saint compared to Bill Bidwell.

Didn't know this was becoming an NFL thread, but while we are on the subject, I have
a Baltimore Cardinals sweatshirt hanging up in closet. Eventually bound for Ebay.
