Tycoon's £4m Stones gig

IF workers at Gate Gourmet, the firm at the centre of the BA dispute, can’t get no satisfaction — their boss can.

Billionaire David Bonderman, co-founder of US owner Texas Pacific, paid the Rolling Stones £4.4million to play at his 60th birthday party in Las Vegas in November 2002.

Comedian Robin Williams got £600,000 as warm-up man.

More controversial this weekend are Mr Bonderman’s ties to a deadly rival of BA.

The 6ft 2in Texan is also chairman of cut-price airline Ryanair.

He made a fortune managing investments for oil billionaire Robert Bass in the 1980s.

His first major deal at Texas Pacific was to buy and turn round Continental Airlines.

Deals since have included buying Burger King from British drinks giant Diageo.

Texas Pacific bought a 20 per cent stake in Ryanair in 1996 — shortly before it floated on the stock exchange.
