Jungleclone says "That puts folks like you in a real bind. So gloat while you can. Because what goes around always comes around! F9's day of reckoning is fast approaching."
There will always be a need for a good aircraft mechanic/avionics technician. I've been in the industry over 30 years and HAVE NEVER had a problem acquiring jobs that I have been interested in. And in those 30 years I have continued to build a retirement nest egg, knowing full well that you can't count on ANYONE other than yourself to have a good retirement.
And as far as F9 is concerned I guess you didn't see our 3Q financials that even surprised the analysts. You all over there at UAL have been predicting the doom of F9 for 10+ years, which hasn't happened yet. We'll still be here trucking along as UAL continues its struggle for survival. F9 isn't immune from the forces facing the industry, but at least our management has a plan to stay competitive. More than most give UniTED's management or the lack of. As the one article in the Denver post pointed out last week, Tilton isn’t doing anything different at UniTED that past CEO haven’t done. Like the guy said, “IF you don’t fire the first 200 at the top, nothing will EVER CHANGE.†And UniTED’S two years in BK have proven that!!!!
If F9 doesn't make it, I am not worried. I can find me a 6-figure avionics job working in Afghanistan or Iraq, fixing planes and helicopters to keep our troops safe. So you see Clone, if your willing to move and see new things IT'S NOT HARD TO KEEP A MECHANICS JOB!
Again, we’ll compare financials between F9 and UniTED this 4Q and see how you fair. I am still waiting for you all to post TED’S profit margin and load factor for the 3Q results????? I still agree with the analysts, there will only be maybe 3 big carriers left and I don’t think UniTED will be one of them.
