American Airlines Flight 1755 was about to take off from MIA to San Francisco International Airport when a flight attendant noticed that passenger Jonathan Baez, 27, was not wearing his seat belt. She tried to wake him up, but he was unresponsive so she called the pilot.

The pilot then decided to turn the plane around and head back to the gate. Once at the gate, the pilot and flight attendant both tried to wake Baez. He finally woke up and was told he needed to exit the plane.

While the pilot and flight attendants were escorting Baez off the plane, they claim his brother, Luis Baez, 29, said, "When you fly to San Juan, I will have you killed."

Both men exited the aircraft. But police said that moments later, Luis Baez reentered the plane and punched the pilot in the face.

A flight attendant stepped in and police said Luis Baez hit her on the shoulder.

Police said both brothers then attacked the pilot again in the jet bridge. They punched him several times and then chased him around the terminal.

Very unfortanate for the pilot and flight attendant. This is the kind of scumbags that are boarding planes when you charge subway ticket prices for traveling across the country. Thanks alot Southwest!

Are you assuming they paid subway fares? I saw lots of a$$hats who paid full fare in my day...

This is why there are airline blacklists. Hope nobody shares their name and DOB.

I do not understand why the pilot was escorting the passenger off the airplane. There is no reason for the
pilot to leave the cockpit. I am in no way saying that it is ok
for this have happened but it baffles me why the pilot was involve in this situation.

Maybe he was the only one who spoke Spanglish.
Nobody knows for sure but the ticket agent about the price, but lets just say the passengers have changed quite a bit due to the "I'll fly for Free airlines". Cabin disruptions have definatley increased. Thanks alot Southwest, the flying experience is so more enjoyable nowadays. HA!

Didn't 737823 AKA/Josh, go on a similar ti-raid, when the first class flight attendant left the m&m's out of the fiesta mix, and failed to refill his mimosa?

I thought His Excellency's first-class hissy fit was because the F/A refused to change his soiled diaper???

Seriously, hopefully the two thug brothers get prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and are barred from ever flying again.

Too bad only one of them had his eye swelled shut.

What complete morons. I feel for the crew involved and hope these individuals are banned from flying AA or any other US carrier. They should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The crew and other passengers have a right to a safe cabin and work place and this should not be tolerated.

Those thugs are luckey that pilot wasn't packing his S@W 45 cal. like every good former Marine F4 pilot I know does. Don't frett Josh, laws of physics and the weight of m&m's make it impossible for even distribution in your Fiesta mix, don't blame the FA! As far as the mimosa's, I'd write a letter to Arpey.

Definitely unfortunate, however Southwest Airlines had absolutely nothing to do with the actions of these two idiots.

Better to be thought a fool and say nothing than to open your mouth and remove all doubt... learn it, embrace it, live it!!!!!

If my history serves me correct, Southwest is the major player in charging those famous $29 ticket prices and has been the leader in lowering the cabin atmosphere.

You are quite wrong. I commuted on WN a lot for 6 years. I NEVER saw behavior on a WN flight such as I see on AA almost every flight. Also, as I have a very close friend who is a WN pilot, I can assure you that WN does not tolerate even half of what we are expected to put up with in the cabin at AA on a regular basis. Don't blame WN. Blame AA management who reward bad behavior. Every time a flight attendant tries to get some jerk to conform to FAR's, the jerk complains to AA Customer Relations and he or she is given AAdvantage miles or free tickets to assuage their hurt feelings. That is what causes this kind of behavior. As Pogo used to say, "We have met the enemy, and he is us."
