I ran into John Morgan, ex-Royal Canadian Air Farce at the Muskoka airport last week. He rolled up in a Zenair something-or-other kit plane after a week at Oshkosh.
His voice was unmistakeable, and after chatting for a couple minutes we got to the issue of his registration C-IMFC and his most famous character...

Interesting! I was working the other side of the radio while he was doing circuits at YQA today. Although his voice is distinctive I never put 2 and 2 together. Cool info on the registration!

(I believe he flies a Zodiac 601.)

Another
"cute" registration was on Phoenix Helicopters' Astar that the Edmonton Police now lease. It was C-FYFN. Suppsedly this was translated to F... You F. N. the name of a former employee of helicopter company in Northern BC (near mountains

). I am sure the rotary guys will know of whom that refers to

A couple days ago John made a precautionary landing on hwy.118 east of YQA due to loss of engine power. Luckily he was OK, he actually happened to land right next to the airport manager's house who gave him a lift back! All turned out OK, but FSS was quite confused as to how he could land off airport and get a lift back so quickly from the "airport manager". Good on the S-76 crew for going out and searching prior to finding out all was OK too. Good work folks!
