Dallas-based Gold Jets, which provides aircraft management and arranges charter flights via an online auction process, has purchased charter operator New World Jet of Ronkonkoma, N.Y. Kern Mattei transferred his 100-percent interest in New World Jet to Gold Jets in exchange for an ownership interest in the latter company. New World Jet, which has about 30 aircraft on its Part 135 certificate, will operate as a subsidiary of Gold Jets and continue to be the provider of charter flights for Jet Aviation to, from and within the U.S. All of the employees of New World Jet will remain, including Richard Van Gemert as its president. Gold Jets was established in 2004 by Terrance Kelley, former president of Jet Aviation North America. Bruce McNeely and Ruth Morgan, also formerly of Jet Aviation, joined Gold Jets last year as, respectively, president and director of aviation services.
