Emerging from BK today! Stronger, more agile, ready to compete with the world again on a level playing field.
Thank you. My wife and I both work for Delta. All of us, USAirways, United , Northwest have all suffered through the BK process. Good luck to us all. We deserve it.being an USAirways employee of 30 years.. i want to congratulate you on your BK emergence.. make sure you do it just the one time not like us... we had to do it twice because of idiots at the wheel.. much luck... btw the co did it twice but no one says anything about it.. oh well...
Bankruptcy ?
What's Bankruptcy ?????????
🙄
NH/BB's
Bankruptcy is a legally declared inability or impairment of ability of an individual or organizations to pay their creditors. Creditors may file a bankruptcy petition against a debtor in an effort to recoup a portion of what they are owed. In the majority of cases, however, bankruptcy is initiated by the debtor (the bankrupt individual or organization).
It is also a threat that was cleverly used by American Airlines management to SCREW their employees then line their own pockets with millions.
Let's all pat another airline on the back for yet ANOTHER "successful bankruptcy". Am I the only person who finds those two words just a little bit odd? U (twice) and UAL (three years under "protection" of bankruptcy) are one big reason why Delta had to file in the first place. Delta's filing just brought on NWA's filing. Sorry guys...but as heartless as it sounds, in my book it would be better to let the weak fail and let the stronger ones grow. I would hope that we see a shift from blaming the "low cost" carriers for the problems facing the stronger airlines. It's the "successfully bankrupt" carriers that are lowering the bar for everybody else.I have no idea how Delta Air Lines did it. After all, everyone wrote them off as dead not very long ago.
Some of us have always had the faith.
Now maybe people won't think I'm flapping my gums at the idea that DL just might be an acquirer rather than the acquired in the next round of consolidation.

broke....The ATSB bailout helped more than UA and AA. And it was mostly because the government shut down air travel for some time. And of those two...AA didn't go the bankruptcy route. Yeah...they may have threatened it to the employee groups - and they could have easily DONE that - royally screwing employees, shareholders, creditors and the like - but they didn't. And the screwing AA employees had to take is still less than the screwing of US, UAL, DAL and NWA employees had to take.I agree. The sad fact is after 911 there was 2 major airlines that should have and would have folded if not for a taxpayer bailout. If not for the ATSB hundreds of thousands of employees would still have their pensions.
