I remember the USAIR commercials they were GREAT.
They even advertised one SuperBowl.
It,s a shame it,s been YEARS since I,ve seen any kind of advertising at all.
In the Ny metro area nothing.
PS anyone remember the one they had when Allegheny changed it,s name to USair, it was very cool "LIKE A STAR WARS" theme.

There was a great Piedmont Shuttle commercial that came out shortly before the Challenger disaster. It was shot inside the cabin of an F-28 with a full passenger load. The cabin rotated 90 degrees to the vertical position similar to the space shuttle and then "lifted off". It was followed by some graphic that said something about the Piedmont Shuttle. It was a great commercial. After the Challenger event, Piedmont management took the commerical off the air out of respect to memory of the lives lost in the Challenger. Does anyone know what happened to this commerical. It would be great to see it in the archives.

Such a tragedy that USAir squandered the West Coast network so quickly :down:

The mistake was to "mirror-image" everything... I mean, c'mon, is it true that USAir put hot meal service on all the PSA shuttle flights between SFO-LAX? Who were they kidding?

They can't roll out the PSA retrojet quickly enough. It would be nice if they put a smile on the new scheme... but I suppose I'm asking too much 🙄

I still miss PSA 🙁

Thanks Gonzo. I just love the r-e-s-p-e-c-t clip and the mosh pit. Two best AWA commericials IMO.

Think of the "Buzz" that would be generated in the FF community, casual customers and the media. You couldn't buy that kind of publicity even with SWA's advertising budget.

I think your right on Bob. It would certainely set us apart from the rest of the field.

I want the "Smiles" back on ALL of US Airways Planes AND retro uniforms on the Heritage planes.

Smiles are one thing, but retro uniforms are too expensive--they can't even get a regular uniform--issuing retro uniforms to everyone would be way to expensive for the use that they would get. Cool, yes...practical, no--unless maybe they bring back the ice cream to the 767's... 🙂
