Corporate Synergy V. Human Synergy

For those of us that remember the early days of this industry it is hard to let go of the memories. We were a class act where passengers actually enjoyed travelling and were treated with dignity and respect. We went through several mergers, name changes and products to enhance the public to travel with us rather than opt for another carrier. We fought with travel agencies to keep the product high and keep the same preferred passengers travelling only on us with wonderful perks, elegant inflight service and most importantly "customer service satisfaction". Those times are long gone. It is very sad to see how fast we have turned into one of the cheapest, rudest low cost carrier in the United States.

This is what this company has resorted to in the last quarter.

-Making reservations even harder to obtain, erratic pricing and less preferred status,upgrading is almost absolete.
-Forcing us to print our own boarding passes at home to avoid lines and save the company additional funds, then charging us 2.00 per bag with a skycap so we don't have to wait in long lines at ticket counters.
-Filthy gate lounges with broke furniture to sit on while smelling dirty cash cans with dirty diapers.
-Bouncing our flights from gate to gate, concourse to concourse on bad weather days.
-Pushing us onto aircraft like a herd of cows.
-Closing the jetway door 10 minutes prior to departure even if there are passengers still awaiting passage because the flight must go out on time.
-Dealing with gate agents that cannot operate a computer system that is impossible.
-Having managers come on board the aircraft threatening to pull us off if we do not take our seats right away.
-Watching our gate checked articles sit on the tarmac as we push back from the gate.
-Listening to the same music, eating the same 6 pretzels and a soft drink that makes you even hungrier.
-Arriving at your final destination only to complete a baggage claim for your gate checked article that usually will arrive back at your origin 2 weeks after you complete your itinerary.

Times have changed, human synergy is now replaced with Corporate synergy greed!
 
All the airlines are crappy...If ticket prices were back up to deregulated status things would be different.

Southwest is a very unique animal with alot more money to pay employees. They have extremely low operating costs, run only one aircraft, point-to-point profitable routes, ect.
