Craziest Flight Ever!

I had only been flying about 3 months. I was with a really senior crew and the F/A in the back on a 737 had alittle over 20 years.

During the flight we were putting the cart back and i dropped a can of coke which burst and started spinning on the floor shooting coke everywhere. The walls and the jumpseat was covered in coke, including ourselves. We got tickeled and were laughing out loud.

She looks and me and says "now sweetie let me show you how to clean up coke on the floor" "its a great f/a trick that will come in handy for you one day". She then grabs a can of diet coke, opens it, and pours it all over the floor. She then looks at me and looks at the can and says...OH F***, I meant to grab a can of seltzer water!!!! I still smile to this day when i think about that. 😀

nice older couple. They flew S5 so I assume that they are retired USAir.

S5 would be the spouse or parents/in-laws traveling without the Retiree. From your description I would assume the latter. Most of these folks are oblivious of the "rules".

We were not the only ones responsible for this error. None of the crew saw the dog. The agent did not see the dog. The passengers who should have known better, did not list the dog, which is required, so there was no paperwork. So why the "shock"? Normal people would not consider placing their pet in the overhead. They're lucky that the crew did not write this up---they could lose their flying benefits, and that would be shocking.

I've been non-reving for about 28 years now. I've never seen anything about listing a dog as a carry-on or any required paperwork. Please tell me where in the company policy I can find this information...manual, chapter, and paragraph, please.

Probably somewhere a non-rev (and most revenue passengers) would never look - the contract of carriage. This is the US (East) version:

Pet Animals: US Airways does not accept animals for shipment in the cargo hold. US Airways will accept for an extra charge small dogs, small domestic cats, small household birds and household tropical fish for transportation in the customer cabin under the following conditions:

- Reservations are made at least 24 hours before departure.

- The animal is harmless, inoffensive, odorless and requires no attention during transit.

- The container must be approved by US Airways and able to fit underneath the seat in front of the customer traveling with the animal. (Maximum container size—21" length x 16" width x 8" height.)
Note: Due to underseat space constraints, pets may not be permitted in the cabin on certain aircraft types.

- Only one pet per customer and container is permitted, and the pet cannot be removed from the container during transit.

- In the event the animal becomes offensive or causes a disturbance during transit, the owner will be asked to deplane with the pet at the first en route stop.

- US Airways assumes no responsibility for the impaired health or death of the animal.

- Special additional restrictions may apply for international travel. The transportation of animals to some international destinations is prohibited.

Well, that’s certainly a relief!

I couldn’t go anywhere without Hamlet, my emotional support animal.

Thanks to BB...You mean to tell me that all this time, you thought that there are NO rules concerning carry-on pets???
The fee is waived for non-revs, but the rules still apply.
