US Airways Moves Closer to Emerging from Chapter 11 by the End of September
ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways announced today that its Chapter 11 Plan of Reorganization (POR), anchored by its proposed merger with America West Airlines, has been formally and overwhelmingly approved by the US Airways creditors. The affirmative vote by the creditors, coupled with the separate approval by America West shareholders yesterday, leaves the judicial confirmation hearing of the plan by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court as the key remaining step prior to the expected emergence from Chapter 11 and the consummation of the proposed merger.
