I noticed when I was visting my Aunt for Thanksgiving, that Dayton''s airport has about three gates that have what look like the ending of Jetways built into the building. The Building sticks out of Concourse C and when I walked to where you could enter that wing all there is are doors that are sealed. What was this wing used for?
Thanks

I would assume that the unused Dayton gates were used by Piedmont prior to the USAir takeover. PI had a DAY hub in the '80s that US dismantled very quickly after the '89 merger.

The Dayton hub was kept in operation until 1992
when it was closed. That concourse was later walled off completely.
