US Airways to Reduce Fares Between Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and 16 Destinations

TEMPE, Ariz., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- US Airways (NYSE: LCC) has unleashed mass fare reductions for select markets with service to and from Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).

US Airways has already lowered its fares in nearly 80 markets this year and introduced its customer-friendly pricing structure system-wide with the elimination of the Saturday night stay requirement.

"We're confident that customers will embrace our fare reduction from Washington National which will not only be good for them as they enjoy lower fares but will also have a positive impact on our bottom line," said Scott Kirby, US Airways executive vice president, sales and marketing.

The table below outlines the fare reductions:

New York - LaGuardia $100 28%
Boston $198 49%
Albany, N.Y. $218 31%
Hartford, Conn. $118 63%
Nashville, Tenn. $258 13%
Buffalo, N.Y. $178 40%
Columbus, Ohio $178 26%
Dayton, Ohio $228 18%

Raleigh/Durham, N.C. $178 31%
Rochester, N.Y. $228 28%
Louisville, Ky. $232 23%

I guess that this proves that prices at DCA can only sustain premium prices over BWI and IAD for late purchased tickets.
