With the reduction in seats to these two cities. It will help AA and UA with there yeilds. I know our planes have been very full. Not sure how United is doing. Likely the same. Just might see if DFW-EZE will fly after all. Or if that comment about it being a temp slot, and not wanting to start service with it. Was just lip service to get out of serving the market right now.
AA also will benefit from Uniteds departure from JFK to South America. That will give us more of the O/D traffic from the NY area.
Delta is adding Libera and a couple more flights to the caribbean. The leasure market seems to be where we are all heading.
UAL may be giving up JFK, but there will still nonstop service via Star Alliance partner VARIG. UAL is going to IAD to replace its JFK-GRU/EZE Latin America service. Given UA's large operation at IAD this becomes just another spoke at Dulles. The DC region is large and rich demographically, there should be enough traffic to make this service viable.
