"Well I'll be DAMMED" !

And to think I ALMOST bought into dell's/Sparrows line of BS about BO being to BLAME for high gas prices.

High gas prices ? Corperate GREED/Capitalism at its UGLY Best !

Don't think "THIS" wont come up in the General Election debates !

The GOP, the GIFT that keeps ON + ON, GIVING !

LEAN FORWARD !

Yeah, the price of oil has nothing to do with the declining value of the dollar, or the red tape that prevents new refineries from being built, or the EPA's requirement for seasonal blends of gas....

Let the Annointed one and his Posse raise taxes and eliminate subsidies for big oil.....................just who in the hell do you think they will pass "That" cost to ?

C'mon Barry-O.................you can figure that one out or do you own a $40,000.00 Volt ?

"Chevy Volt Costing Taxpayers Up to $250K Per Vehicle!"

http://www.mackinac.org/16192

I'd rather my tax money pay subsidies to big oil, rather that a failed car manufacturer !

C'mon Eric,..........which is it ?
Either BO's not drilling enough,......OR............BO isnt REFINING enough ?
As you know, ....."Black Gold" is oozing out of the N. Dakota ground, faster than they can scoop it up !!!!

This is ultimately nothing more than Corperate GREED at its FINEST !!!!!!!!!!
(Don't believe me, then wait for the 2012 FINANCIAL results to come out).............."They NEVER LOSE, ......EVER" !!

The Oil company doesn't give a SHITE about you and me and everyone else.
They know "we" have a HUGE addiction TO it, and THEY will get every G-DAMM dime they can FOR it. PERIOD !!!

1) Refining production needs to increase, and that means telling the environmentalists that they can choose to drive a Leaf, Volt or Pious if they want to, but the rest of the country is no longer going to be considered second class to their lofty whims to save a few owls & polar bears. The same tree-hugging mindset that blocks exploration also blocks expansion & construction of pipelines, refineries and nuclear power plants.

I don't fault the guys who own the existing ones from wanting to sit in the catbird seat as long as they can, knowing that new entrants can't enter the market and undercut their margins. But by continuing to tacitly protect those positions, the government is the biggest part of the problem to more competition and lower prices.

2) Increase supply of both crude and refined product enough, and prices *will* fall on the global market. Look at what China did to us on manufacturing. Why can't we play by those same rules when it comes to oil?

We can't increase supply enough here in the US to increase the global supply enough to lower the price of oil on the global market.

Funny when Pelosi and company were all over the dreaded GW, the mere implication seemed to drop the price.
Wonder why Pelosi and the rest of the DNC aren't screaming bloody murder now?

The price of crude on the global market is being set by Chinese and Indian demand. Any increase in North American drilling and production will have a negligible immediate increase in global production, and subsequent price drop, other than speculator driven swings.

I do agree with an aggressive approach to fully realizing our potential here, while we continue to encourage emerging energy technologies.

Once again you fail to recognize the impact of fiat currency and the resulting devaluation as one of if not the primary factors that determine Oil Prices.

The value of Silver in the pre 1964 US Dime is roughly equal to a Gallon of gas. So it's not only Supply and Exploration that fuel the rise.

Commodity Inflation is one reason the Chinese and the Indians are buying up Gold. They realize that we have Charmin for currency.

There is also a significant manipulation of the dollar going by the Chinese through there own currency. That will end. When it does, their imports from us will rise significantly, and our economy will grow far more rapidly than it is now.

Suffice it to say, our measly increase in production will not sway the global market much in the near term. The only long-term solution is to reduce our dependence on it. This conversation would be far different right now if we had done that back in the late 70's when somebody in a prominent position called for us to do just that.

The price of crude is set by futures traders.

ONE: It's not measly! I've seen some pretty wild numbers that even if half right will allow us energy self sufficiency for as long as 75 years. Even is the number is off by half, that would be ample time to develop and fine tune other technologies including Nuclear for electricity along with coal assuming reasonable environmental regulations.

If a currency is not a fiat currency and instead is tied to something of intrinsic value then ALL cirrency manipulation ceases. China is doing what it is doing for a variety of reasons. One of which is to destroy the dollar to the point where it is no longer the Worlds reserve currency.
