Division of AirTran Airways Votes Against Union Membership

ORLANDO, Fla., Dec. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- AirTran Airways, a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings, Inc., , announced today that a group of its employees has voted against representation by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. Ballots for the election, which was conducted by the National Mediation Board, were mailed to 2,353 customer service, ramp and reservations agents on November 17, 2005. The National Mediation Board informed the airline that The Teamsters received 36 percent of the total votes from ballots counted today in Washington, D.C.

AirTran Airways, one of America's largest low-fare airlines with 6,700 friendly, professional Crew Members, operates over 600 daily flights to 48 destinations.
