Do you realize Elizabeth Dole is responsible for thousands of Aircraft Maintenance jobs being eliminated and sending US based aircraft to overseas MROs?
 
Before she was DOT and changed the FARs all US based aircraft had to be overhauled in the US, thanks to her, that isnt the in the FARs anymore.

That and as 700W pointed out in another thread, the various unions are perfectly happy to feed off of each other; so, when the government removes a job protection, the unions don't fight it. They just take struck work or jobs from people laid off because they refused to accept a substandard crappy contract. Per 700W, the justification is "everybody else does it." (See the thread about the AE pilots refusing the latest TA.)
