E190 to Islands

Well if the loads aren't heavy enough during the hurricane season and slower period of travel to warrant bigger aircraft what else is the response? Pull the flight? I think it's a good move. As for in the cabin the ONLY problem I have is lack of space and supplies in the fwd galley. It stinks but you can make due. Besides, it's only for a short time. It's not as if they are putting it on permanently. At least we have the plane to allow flexibility and it's still mainline crews.

Send a 319. That is why Airbus built the 4(3 of which we have) sizes of aircraft with common flight crews and amenities. Maybe operate 5 or 6 days a week if that is still too many seats, or, here is a new thought, compete for more business and bring some customers back and fill a 319.

The FWD Galley in Poor at best. Lack of Storage, Lack of Garbage space. The Cargo Bins Stink. How many employees have split their heads open on this A/C? There are a lot more bags to the Islands then to DFW or even DEN. Whats next, The CRJ900 ?

The FWD galley is a problem exclusive to US as they had EMB remove the second, larger part of the FWD galley and put two more seats there, similar to how they ripped out the galleys and closets on the A320 and A321 fleets. The HP way is to stuff as many seats in and what supplies won't fit in an overhead or under a seat do without.

If there was more money to be made flying it with a different aircraft they would be doing it, I don't think there's any evil agenda here.

Ugggggh Anyway. 🙄 The E190 is going so get over it already. It's a done deal. 😉 For those that don't like the 190 to the islands.....DON'T FLY IT! ! ! If your reserve and hate it enough to not wanna do it but get called with daily.......CALL IN SICK! ! ! Do what ya gotta do. My Goodness. I thought many f/a's were silly (including myself) debating over the size of a cup. 🙄

reminds me of FK100 PHL to MKC----over 3 hrs -----third world marketing department at it again

You know from a customer perspective 3 hours in an E-190 is a pretty darn nice ride even in coach. Frankly from a comfort standpoint I prefer the E-190 to most of the rest of the fleet.
If the FAA would allow more passengers on the E190 with only two flight attendants it most likely would have less leg room

Ha!!!!.....no worries about Reserve F/A's getting the PUJ overnights.......Those trips are more senior than Europe......Now seeing those F/A's in a bikini? ughhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

Look, not doubting the A/C's range. PHL-DEN was short lived with the 190.
I was talking about DFW! The Aircraft is Nice from a Pax standpoint but poor from an employee point of view.

Continental use to and still does fly on some route's the EMB-145XR on FPO,NAS,OKC,MCI, all from EWR. Most with block time's at or just below 4 hour's. Also CLE-DEN, IAH-PSP, IAH-BOI (former longest RJ route 4 solid) and many more. No bag problem's, and the flight's were full over and over again. So I don't see what the big deal with US putting a PAX friendly plane on the route. For those of you complaining, would you rather they cancel the route and park the plane's and furlough? Or would you rather they fly the route?

In this enviroment with another airline going under (Pace), I would think people would be beyond greatful for their, F'ed up US Airway's management, that manage's to keep their airline, well... FLYING.....

To all those who are going to reply, you don't even work here and all the other bull, I know. Just posting a comment on a OPEN forum. Safe flying.

I'm with you there Bob, I'd take a seat in the back of a 190 over any coach seat on the 7dirty7, and any middle seat on any other US aircraft.

If you are upset about an F100 from PHL to Kansas City, take a look at today's schedule on this route. Two CRJ200s (50 seats) and one E170 (76 seats). An E190 or an F100 would be an upgrade. Also, all service to Houston (just under 4 hours) from PHL is on E170s or E175 (86 seats), so again an E190 would be an upgrade in seats and at least support mainline jobs.
