Ok, Here is something i have been dying to ask. Why doesn't CO have a direct flight from EWR-GUM? It would be so economical for them. They have quite a few Asian flights from there, and many travelers would totaly rather be on two Continental flights rather than a continental then a NW or something.

It would take a 777 to make this flight. CO believes they have better markets to use their 777's in.

I don't think CO believes there is very much traffic btwn EWR and GUM anyway, as you can not fly on CO015 from EWR-HNL and connect to GUM on the same day. You can go EWR-IAH-HNL-GUM on the same day.

But CO does have a big Asia market, and with all of their conections to everything over there in Asia, the GUM flight just seems to make sense. Or at least extend CO15 to GUM.

No spare widebodies with long legs to make the trip.

There's virtually no local market from the US mainland to Guam. With a flight full of connections, you'd almost certainly be losing money. The only reason the IAH flight connects is for Asian tourists to get back home and the maintenance rotation...
