Ex-CEO Carty says American Air is stemming red ink

DALLAS, Sept 11 (Reuters) - The former head of American Airlines Don Carty said on Thursday the carrier still had a way to go to cure financial ills that brought it to the brink of bankruptcy, but the airline had made great strides in stemming the flow of red ink.
