American Airlines International, Domestic First & Business Class Fares No Longer Available For Purchase On Expedia

FORT WORTH, Texas – Effective immediately, American Airlines, the world’s largest airline, will no longer sell international tickets or domestic first or business class tickets through Expedia.com or any other website powered by Expedia.com to customers purchasing travel from the United States. Domestic coach tickets on American will still be available through Expedia. American’s full content – including all international, domestic first and business class tickets – is still available for purchase through a number of outlets, including its own award-winning website, AA.com, its professional reservations agents, travel agencies in locations worldwide, and other online travel agencies. Tickets already purchased remain valid for travel on American.

I know that my sister tried to book a trip on Expedia, but the website wouldn't confirm that the tickets were hers or print out a confirmation. She called them and was assured that the purchase did not complete. She then bought the tickets elsewhere. At the end of the month when her credit card statement arrived there was the charge from Expedia for two tickets. It took her quite awhile to clear up the matter.
