The FAA has approved a Flight Hour Extension for MD-80 Heavy "C" Checks.
Effective Sept. 21st, 2005

This will save AA some $2.7-3.0 Million Dollars.

I believe the Tulsa Base wants to take credit for this savings and apply it to the $500 million break through goal.

Any thoughts on this qualifying against the $500 million? Or is this more smoke and mirrors by Tulsa Base Management?

Rumor is 500 layoffs in tulsa is this true?

I have not heard this rumor, but doubt it is true.

AA is simply reducing headcount by attrition. A RIF now would seriously damage the bed wetting party between TWU and AA.

that would probably count towards the $500,000,000 in savings too

Isn't it $500 million in revenue and saving combined? $500 million is savings just doesn't seem possible.

Do you have a link for this? I would like to read more about it.

kto, you have way to much time,

Tulsa has reported 72 million to date with more work coming in.

As for extending the time on the A/C, In 2007 the work load is expected to increase on the MD80 and AA is trying to reduce the number of Heavy Maintenance planes for the year.
