EMPLOYEE BULLETIN NO. 2

CO issued the following news release tonight:

CONTINENTAL AIRLINES’ FLIGHT ATTENDANTS

RATIFY AGREEMENT

HOUSTON, Jan. 29, 2006 -- Continental Airlines (NYSE: CAL) announced today that it has been advised, after local vote counts at its flight attendant bases (Houston, Newark and Cleveland), that its agreement with the flight attendants has been ratified. District 142 of the International Association of Machinists has informed Continental that it will certify these results and issue an official statement on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006.

I would be interested to know what were the "concessions" that some CO f/as were complaining about. My friend who is based at IAH said that the new contract would result in no pay cut for top of scale, and those not TOS would still receive pay increases for the next 4 years.

They gave up no hourly rates. TOS get raise at the end of the agreement as do others I have heard. They gave up flex vacation and productivity improvments in lieu of hourly rates. It will be a good contract as long as not everyone is happy. There's problems if they're all happy.
