First Paycheck for 2013 less than 2012

My social security deduction (fiscal cliff) was the difference and not the medical--and I am not going to start a political argument here.
Not sure why we pay higher taxes on money made before the higher taxes would have kicked in, if they do in fact kick in. The check was for two weeks in December, but the taxes still went up.But since you mentioned medical, I did receive my "non-insurance" cards in the mail. Cost me the same as 2012 for coverage that will cost me a fortune if I have to use. So therefore the term "non-insurance" cards. :wacko:

Yup looked at my first check of 2013. SS went up about $60. Total increase in TAX alone is $1600 a year to the government. Hope they fix this fiscal cliff crap because AA wasted no time in increasing my tax deduction. Did someone mention pay raise? What raise? I just took a pay cut again. Maybe I took a pay cut to fund the Obama Care program that no one really seems to know what we are paying for.

You just love to throw out terms that sound good, but obviously you have not a clue what they mean. As Bob pointed out, what is going on is not socialism. Socialism involves (IN PART) redistribution of wealth downward. What has been going on in this country for some time is redistribution of wealth upward. As the song says, "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer."

I've have been resisting commenting on your political rants, but now I must question if you are who you said you were--a Tulsa Fleet Service Clerk who is getting laid off. It would seem odd that for someone who makes $40k a year and is, or is getting laid off that you would be so negative about socialism, liberlism or any entitlement programs. Are you also against retraining programs that many of our co-workers are taking advantage of? Politics aside, if you are who you say you are, you would be embracing any handout that would come your way if you are on the street. Let me ask you this, have you filed for unemployment? Or is it that your just another international guy who is concerned that his taxes might up gone up because they are the only ones making anywhere near what it would take for a tax increase. :blink:

Not quite. If you are European, you understand that in your terms, fascism is far right and socialism/communism is far left. You might not see it that way, but the rest of the world does.

Socialism actually involves distribution of wealth equally. You will make what a CEO makes as does the village derelict. There is no down or up, just equal.
The paycheck affects motivation,lower pay = less productivity just fact...Until this is fixed expect it.

Read in the newspaper today, much to my dismay, that the social security tax increase is permanent. Obama said the wealthy would pay more taxes. I guess we are wealthy. Good thing our medical can't go up again........... Oh yeah, that's right. Oh one more thing to make your day.... Spoke with a friend of mine who lives in the Boston area and is a fork lift mechanic (union). He was asked to deliver a propane tank yesterday (paid holiday) so he got 4 hours O.T. @ double time and one half. It took him about forty five minutes to deliver the propane tank. I told him my next paid holiday was July 4th. He said his is Martin Luther King day, then President's day, then Good Friday then Patriot's Day. I do not know what union he is in, but it is a safe bet it is not the TWU! Oh, he makes about what we make per hour and he doesn't have to sign anything off as airworthy. The funny thing is I left a job like this (non union) many years ago to go to work for AA because of the benefits.......... My bad.
