Had maintenance known about Airbus''s concerns over the load placed on the tail structure, I suspect they would have called for more specific testing in 1997.

Airbus was in the middle of selling lots of A320s to airlines back then. Had this issue been brought up back then, JetBlue and a lot of other airlines would probably be all-Boeing today...
