Independence Air Announces New Airbus Service to Charlotte; Schedule Expanding to Eight Daily Roundtrips Including Three Airbus A319 Flights

DULLES, Va., March 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Low-fare airline Independence Air (Nasdaq: FLYi - News) is proud to announce it will begin new Airbus service to Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) on June 1, 2005 -- increasing the daily schedule to a total of eight roundtrips to Washington Dulles International Airport, including three daily flights to be operated with the company's brand new 132-seat Airbus A319 aircraft.

Independence Air currently has a schedule of seven daily flights from Charlotte to its hub at Washington Dulles -- all aboard the company's 50-seat CRJ aircraft. With the expansion of flights and the use of the Airbus A319s, the airline's total capacity between Charlotte and Washington will grow by 46%, from 350 to 646 daily seats. From the first day we began offering low-fare service back in October of last year, it's been readily apparent that people are ready for a new alternative in air service. This expansion will make it even easier for our customers to take advantage of low-fare flights to the nation's capital and all the cities we serve from our hub at Washington Dulles."
In addition to the non-stop flights from Charlotte to Washington, Independence Air offers connecting service to 39 other destinations -- with new West Coast service to San Diego to begin on April 14th and flights to San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle and San Jose to start on May 1st.
Members of the Independence Air iCLUB frequent flyer program will earn double iPOINTS for all travel completed by June 30, 2005. Double iPOINTS details and restrictions are seen below.
