GSA Gives 1-Year Pacts For More Than $2 Billion To 14 US Airlines
The U.S. General Services Administration gave one-year contracts, worth more than $2 billion total, to 14 airlines, effective Oct. 1.
The four largest contracts went to UAL Corp. (UAUA) for $661.1 million, AMR Corp. (AMR) for $389.7 million, Delta Air Lines Inc. (DAL) for $370.5 million and US Airways Group Inc. (LCC) for $314.7 million.
The General Services Administration said it gave the contracts based on average flight time, price, service, flight distribution, number of flights, available seats, fully refundable tickets and penalty-free cancellations and schedule changes.
