DL was major carrier to see unit costs rise and had the worst operating margin in the industry last year, except for UA.

Two years ago USAir paid 71% more to fly one seat one mile than Southwest. Last year USAir was 49% more expensive on the cost side, a difference it can't make up on the revenue side
