After Delta filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2005, it terminated its pilots’ defined-benefit pension plan. But it was able to lobby for federal legislation to help preserve its pension plan for other employees. It also agreed to provide compensation for pilots to help offset any lost benefits, according to the AP.
So much for it's "DIRECT RELATIONSHIP" with it's "other" non union employees.
I suggest NW employees FIGHT THIS MERGER TOOTH AND NAIL! It is the aviation equivalent of the mortgage fiasco in the making. Based on lies, and promises (with NOTHING in writing except for UNIONIZED pilots)
